Low Operator Attention Required
Minimal Footprint – Generally smaller than the footprints of comparable equipment on the market
Easy to Use Controls – Easy controls allow for simple adjustment of separation points, which is ideal for requirements for change in final products
The CMI TBS requires nominal maintenance
Our Teeter Bed Separator efficienctly produces consistent, high quality products
CMI’s Teeter-Bed Separator (TBS) is the newest addition to our broad lines of centrifuges and process equipment and is designed for cleaning and separating materials between 2-3 mm and 100 mesh (approximately 0.15 mm). With the TBS, we have produced a hindered setting classifier that uses upward current water to create a column of teeter within the main vessel. Additionally, the density in this machine is constantly monitored and automatically controlled using electronic sensing and control equipment and can be set to give required classifications based upon either size or specific gravities.
Complete and email us an Application Data Sheet; our engineers will work with you on selecting the right centrifuge for your application.
Material Flow - Teeter Bed Separator
The CMI TBS separates fine clean coal particles from such heavier refuse as shale and rock resulting in a lower ash, higher yield product than such other fine coal cleaning methods as spirals. During the separation process, the TBS is essentially “hands free” and requires minimal operator attention, which is especially crucial within the coal preparation industry, where the feed fluctuates in size and solids content.
The unique design, consistency and accurate classification abilities of this machine makes the CMI TBS an effective choice for classifying a variety of sands including closely graded grits, foundry sands, glass sands and good quality sands. Customers from a range of industries from coal preparation to tin to lead to zinc dressings have utilized the TBS to successfully remove lignite and peat from sands.
CMI has developed a pilot program for the TBS to allow potential customers to experience first-hand how the machine can improve their operation. This pilot program allows CMI to accurately demonstrate the functions and benefits of the TBS on a specific application and feed without detracting from a customer’s daily operation. The pilot TBS system is trailer-mounted, is completely self-contained and requires little external assistance from the test site.
